Paris Olympics 2024: Vinesh Phogat Disqualified, Hospitalized?

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the women's 50kg wrestling final at the Paris 2024 Olympics because her additional 100 grams of weight was considered overweight.

The 29-year-old athlete from Haryana showed incredible determination, winning three matches on August 7 to reach the final in the Paris Olympics 2024. Despite her outstanding performance, she missed a gold medal due to a weight discrepancy.

Vinesh reportedly faced challenges in meeting the weight requirement, going to great lengths to shed an additional 2 kg the night before the final but ultimately falling short by 100 grams. Following her disqualification, she suffered from dehydration and fainted, leading to her being hospitalized in Paris on August 7.

Her victory over the finals qualification was celebrated among the Indians, and she was appreciated for the efforts she had made for the Olympics. Her victory made everybody to recall her struggles faced during the Wrestlers protest.
