ICC Player of the March Nominees Announced

Today, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees for the ICC Player of the Month Awards for March. The award considers the best performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket.

March Month Nominees for March are Rashid Khan (AFG), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (IND), Sean Williams (ZIM), and Women Nominees are Rajeshwari Gayakwad (IND), Lizelle Lee (SA), Punam Raut (IND)

In March, in men’s cricket, Rashid Khan of Afghanistan took 11 wickets as his team won the second Test against Zimbabwe and hit up with six wickets in the 3-0 T20I victory.

Bhuvenehwar Kumar, From India, played three ODIs against England, and he took six wickets. He also played five T20Is against the same and took four wickets with an economy rate of 6.38.

 Besides, he was the standout bowler on either side in the white ball series between India and England. 

Sean Williams, from Zimbabwe,  played two Tests against Afghanistan where he scored a total of 264 runs and took two wickets and also went on to play three T20Is against them, where he scored 15 runs with a strike rate of 128.57. 

In women’s cricket, Rajeshwari Gayakwad from India played five ODIs against South Africa and has been their leading wicket-taker in both the white ball series with South Africa. 

She also took eight wickets with an economy rate of 3.56 in the ODIs, and in the three T20Is, she took four wickets with an economy rate of 4.75 with the same opponent.

Punam Raut from India played five ODIs against South Africa and scored  263 runs at 87.66 with a 71.66 strike rate. 

Punam has been India’s top run-scorer in the ODI series against South Africa, scoring a century and two half-centuries in these games.

Lizelle Lee from South Africa played four ODIs against India and scored a century and a half-century to take the lead of MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings.
