Gemma is Google's latest open-source AI model. This can be accessed by any developer but with strict adherence to Google's AI policies.
After Sora, OpenAI's text-to-voice model, Google introduced Gemma, which is Google's latest open-source AI (artificial intelligence) model.
Usage Of AI in Daily Life:
AI is rapidly transforming our world, and its usage is pervasive across many aspects of our lives. AI tools encompass a wide array of technologies designed to simulate human intelligence, aiding in various tasks across industries. These tools utilize machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, computer vision, and other techniques to analyze data, make predictions, automate processes, and enhance decision-making.
In the last few months, the tech giant Google has launched Gemini models in both mid and large sizes, which are for doing difficult tasks. The newly launched Gemma is a small, lightweight model that will help developers across the world build AI responsibilities with adherence to Google's policies.
What Is Google Gemma:
Gemma is a set of lightweight, futuristic, open-source AI models built with technology and research similar to Gemini. Gemma is available in two different sizes that are Gemma 2B and Gemma 7B.
Google has also launched a new Responsible Generative AI tool kit. This is for creating safe AI applications with Gemma.
Google also offers toolchains for supervised fine-tuning and inference for developers to use Gemma. Since Gemma comes with many integration tools, it is accessible for almost all developers.
How Does Gemma Work?
Gemma shares some technical and infrastructural components with Gemini. Gemma 2B and 7B models can perform better when compared to other open AI models.
Google has tuned Gemma models with feedback from humans to conduct evaluations and enhance responsible behaviours. This will include both manual and automated testing to reduce any risks involved.
Google's AI Principles:
Since AI is evolving at a rapid speed, Google has some important AI principles, like all the tech corporations that use artificial intelligence technology.
The tech giant Google said on its official website, "While we are optimistic about the potential of AI, we recognize that advanced technologies can raise important challenges that must be addressed clearly, thoughtfully, and affirmatively. These AI Principles describe our commitment to developing technology responsibly and work to establish specific application areas we will not pursue".
Google also said that the AI technology has some potential harms. Hence, they said any instruments or tools that harm individuals will not be developed. Surveillance technology that compromises privacy will not be designed.
