Mahavishnu, a spiritual speaker, received backlash after delivering a controversial speech at a Chennai government school. His past life details has been revealed, and his old videos are currently being shared on social media. The public is curious to know more about him after the sparked controversy.
Who Is Mahavishnu?
Mahavishnu is known as a spiritual speaker who runs the Paramporul Foundation, a charitable organization. Recently, he delivered a speech at a Chennai government school which stirred up controversy. In response to the controversy, people started to dig into Mahavishnu's past.
Mahavishnu's old stand-up comedies from the famous Tamil comedy show "Kalaka Povathu Yaaru" are going viral on social media. Additionally, sources say that he also directed a movie named "Naan Seitha Kurumbu".
Mahavishnu Controversial Talk:
Mahavishnu was invited to deliver a "Motivational Speech" to the government school in Chennai. He addressed his speech as "Moments of Self-Realization," and delivered the speech.
In his address, Mahavishnu discussed topics such as Karma, Sin, and Rebirth. He said that individuals’ current life circumstances, whether wealth, poverty, or physical challenges are consequences of past life actions.
This perspective of Mahavishnu led to strong opposition from Shanker, a Tamil teacher at the school who is visually impaired. Shanker criticized Mahavishnu’s message as promoting inequality and questioned the appropriateness of such views in an educational setting.
Tamil Teacher Shankar said, "Is this a spiritual discourse? You are talking about karma. What is going on here?"
Mahavishnu responded defensively, arguing, "How can you teach someone how to live without discussing virtues and sins? If you didn't want me to speak, you shouldn't have invited me. Why are you here to argue?" He then rebuked the teacher for challenging him.
Mahavishnu's response to Shanker's objections intensified the controversy and their argument video spread widely on social media.
Educational Minister Response:
In the aftermath, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Tamil Nadu’s educational minister, condemned Mahavishnu’s remarks and announced that action would be taken against those responsible for the event. He emphasized that the teacher’s willingness to forgive should not negate the need for accountability and stated that the government would not tolerate such regressive discourse in schools.
“He (Sankar) wants to forgive and forget him. It showed his magnanimity. It is up to him (Sankar) to personally prefer or not prefer a complaint. As far as we are concerned, based on the video evidence, we will initiate appropriate action against Mahavishnu because this is my premise. You have come and spoken in my premises. You have insulted my teachers. I would like to categorically state that I will not spare him.”
Is Speaking Spiritual Wrong?
Everyone has their own beliefs so following their beliefs is up to the person. Certainly, speaking spiritually is not a wrong thing to do but speaking their ideas in schools among students should not be appreciated.
The school is a platform where equality should be prioritized. In this case, Mahavishnu failed to follow equality. Mahavishnu's approach, which linked current life circumstances to past-life sins, might not be appropriate in a setting where the focus should be on encouraging equality and respect for all students, regardless of their personal situations.
In summary, while individuals have the right to their own beliefs and to express them, it’s important to consider the context and the potential impact on the audience, especially in educational environments where inclusivity and equal treatment are important.
