TN Weather Report: Extreme Heat Waves Expected In Few Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a press release stating that Tamil Nadu will experience unusually high temperatures on September 17.  The state is expected to have hot and humid conditions with partly cloudy skies in many areas today.

Maximum temperatures are anticipated to be 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above the normal range, resulting in hot and potentially uncomfortable conditions in various areas.

Rainfall:

According to the statement issued by the Meteorological department light to moderate rain is possible at a few locations in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from today through September 22, due to changes in the speed of westerly winds.

Chennai: 

As for Chennai and its suburbs, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy with light rain in some areas. Maximum temperatures will range from 38-39°C, while minimum temperatures will be around 28-29°C.

Coimbatore: 

Partly cloudy skies are anticipated in Coimbatore, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 23.0°C to a maximum of 35.0°C.

Fishermen Advisory:

Cyclonic winds with 45 to 55 km/h speeds and occasional gusts up to 65 km/h are expected in the Gulf of Mannar, southeast coastal areas, Tamil Nadu coastal regions, and the adjoining Kumari Sea. Fishermen are advised to avoid these areas due to dangerous conditions.
