TN Weather Report: Chennai Storm Alert And Heavy Rain Warning

Tamil Nadu received a storm alert after the new low-pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, several northern districts of the state may receive heavy rainfall for the next three days including Chennai.

Storm Alert:

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a new low-pressure area has formed in the central and northwest Bay of Bengal, and it is expected to evolve into a storm in the coming days. 

It has revealed that this depression could strengthen into a storm by next week. As a result, moderate rainfall is expected across southern districts, including Chennai.

Tamil Nadu Rainfall Alerts:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain warning for Tamil Nadu over the next three days. This includes a yellow alert for Chennai and surrounding districts due to ongoing rainfall, which has already led to the cancellation of several trains.

Thunderstorms with light to moderate rain are expected in various districts, including Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Theni, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram. Waterlogging has been reported in some areas, including Coimbatore, Theni, Nilgiris, and Thenkasi.

Chennai Weather:

In Chennai, the weather is predicted to be partly cloudy with the possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorms. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 36°C, while the minimum temperature is forecasted at 26°C.

Coimbatore Weather:

Coimbatore is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with potential moderate rain or thunderstorms. The temperatures are expected to range from a minimum of 23°C to a maximum of 33°C. Slight drizzles poured in Gandhipuram, Rathinapuri, Thudiyalur and a few other places early this morning.
