Weather Report: 5 Districts Expect Rain Today In Tamil Nadu

About five districts in Tamil Nadu are expecting rainfall Chennai Metrological Department as the season of South West Monsoon begins. It might lead to thunderstorms with either light or heavy rainfall, as well as lightning.

There is heavy rainfall in the Western Ghats and Northern districts due to the weather change. In this case, The onset of the Southwest Monsoon typically brings rain to these regions, and this news is likely to bring happiness to the people who have endured the hot summer weather. 

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Weather:

Today weather reports expect light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in areas across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Due to this situation, locals in these regions should be prepared for frequent rainfall throughout the day.

Heavy Rainfall Regions:

According to Metrological department reports, today heavy rainfall is forecasted in isolated areas of the Nilgiris district and the Ghat regions of Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, and Dindigul districts. 

Temperature Forecast:

The weather advisory suggests that maximum temperatures in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to be higher than normal by 2-3°C at isolated places from June 23 to June 27, 2024. This suggests certain locations within these areas might experience temperatures that are 2-3 degrees Celsius above what is typically expected for this time of year.

Thunderstorms:

In terms of thunderstorm activity, there is a likelihood of thunderstorms and lightning occurring at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today. It is advisable to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open areas.

Forecast for Chennai City and Neighbourhood:

For Chennai and its surrounding areas today, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy throughout the day. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas during the evening and night hours.

The maximum temperature in Chennai is forecasted to reach around 36-37°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to be between 27-28°C. Residents should be prepared for frequently changing weather conditions and sudden rain showers during the evening commute.
