Two Cases Registered Against BJP Candidate Annamalai At Sulur

Sulur Police has registered a case against BJP candidate Annamalai under sections 143, 286, 341 and 290 of the IPC for alleged violation of the election code of conduct.
Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai is contesting in the Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency. He is actively campaigning for votes and has gathered attention among the youngsters. A few days ago there was a clash between DMK and BJP workers following the campaign. The police have registered a case in this regard.
The Sulur police have registered a case against Annamalai and 300 others under the categories of trespassing without permission and causing public disturbance.
Annamalai's side conveys that they turned off the lights and microphone of his campaign van at exactly 9:58 pm. However, he still greeted the people waiting hours to see him from the vehicle. While he was greeting his supporters, the police seized his van, which led to BJP supporters staging a protest.
Annamalai has alleged that the police took action against him as instructed by the DMK government in an attempt to harass him despite the fact that he was abiding by all the rules set by the Election Commission. And the cases have been registered at Sulur and Singanallur police stations.
