TN Weather Report: Heavy Rainfall Alert for 5 Districts

The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain in five districts today, including Coimbatore and Nilgiris. This is due to ongoing atmospheric circulation patterns.
Heavy Rainfall:
Heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of the Ghat regions of Coimbatore district, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Theni, and Dindigul districts.
Likely, moderate rainfall is expected in several places with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated locations throughout Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Weather Conditions
The Center reported on August 20 that an upper atmospheric downward circulation is affecting the northern districts of Tamil Nadu and neighboring areas. Additionally, there is a lower atmospheric circulation over the Kumari Sea, and an upper atmospheric circulation is present in Lakshadweep and the adjacent South-Eastern Arabian Sea region.
Chennai Weather:
The sky will remain cloudy in Chennai for the next two days. Light rain with thunderstorms and lightning is anticipated at a few locations.
In the Gulf of Mannar, Kumari Sea, and Southeast Coastal Areas, gusty winds reaching 45 kmph with occasional gusts up to 55 kmph are expected. Fishermen are advised to avoid these areas.
Coimbatore Weather:
The current temperature in Coimbatore is 24°C. Conditions are marked by light rain and low clouds, with the possibility of moderate rain or heavy rain with thunderstorms throughout the day.
Moderate rain is anticipated to continue at various places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until the 26th of August.
