TN Weather Report: Heavy Rainfall Alert For 13 Districts

The Meteorological Department issued an alert for heavy rainfall across 13 districts in Tamil Nadu on October 5. In addition, fishers are advised not to enter the sea.
Due to recent rains, several roads have already started waterlogging, prompting the residents to take precautionary measures. In Chennai, preventive steps are being taken, including the clearing and reinforcement of canals to manage potential flooding as the Northeast Monsoon approaches the third week of October 2024.
Heavy Rainfall:
According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected in Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirapalli, Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, and the Karaikal area in Puducherry on October 5.
In addition to heavy rain in certain areas, light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected to occur at isolated places across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Cyclone Alert:
A trough of low pressure stretches from a cyclonic circulation over the southeast Arabian Sea to southern Kerala, located at an altitude of 0.9 km above the average sea level.
Furthermore, there is an upper-level cyclonic circulation present over the west-central and adjoining south Bay of Bengal, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. So, fishers are advised not to enter the sea.
Chennai Weather:
In Chennai, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy. Thunderstorms with light to moderate rain are likely in some areas. The maximum temperature is predicted to be between 35°C and 36°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to range between 26°C and 27°C.
Coimbatore Weather:
Coimbatore is expected to experience thunderstorms with rain. The maximum temperature will likely be around 34°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 23°C.
