TN Weather Report: Heavy Rain Expected In 5 Districts

TN Weather Report

The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Puducherry, and Karaikal for August 7.

Rainfall:

According to the metrological department, today heavy rain is expected in remote areas of Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirapalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

In addition, for the following 7 days, light to moderate rain, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h, is forecasted across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Thunderstorms may also occur at a few locations within these regions.

Chennai:

In Chennai and its suburbs, the weather will be partly cloudy over the next 24 hours and light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in some parts of the city. In terms of Temperatures, it is predicted to range between a minimum of 27-28°C and a maximum of around 35°C.

Rain In Coimbatore:

Coimbatore will experience partly cloudy skies in the morning, with conditions becoming generally cloudy by the afternoon or evening. There is a possibility of rain or thundershowers, which could be accompanied by squalls or hail.

Bay Of Bengal - Cyclonic Winds :

For the Bay of Bengal, cyclonic winds with speeds of 35-45 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 55 km/h, are expected over Central West and touching East Bay of Bengal, Northwest Bay of Bengal, and Southwest and Southeast Bay of Bengal. 

Arabian Sea Region:

In the Arabian Sea, cyclonic winds of 45-55 km/h, with occasional squalls reaching 65 km/h, are expected in the Midwest and adjoining Middle East Arabian Sea areas. Due to the unsafe conditions, fishermen are advised to avoid these regions.
