TN Weather Report: Rainfall Expected Across 13 Districts

The Chennai Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning will occur at isolated locations in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on September 10.
Tamil Nadu Rains:
Tamil Nadu rainfall regions include Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai are also likely to experience rainfall.
Bay Of Bengal Depression:
The northern and western districts of Tamil Nadu have received significant rainfall in recent days due to a depression in the Bay of Bengal.
The low-pressure area over the Central West and adjoining North West Bay of Bengal intensified into a deep depression and moved 50 km east-southeast of Puri, Gopalpur as of 08:30 am On September 8.
It later shifted near Puri on the Odisha coast on September 9 and weakened into a depression by midnight. This system is contributing to the current weather conditions in Tamil Nadu. From September 10 to 15, light to moderate rain is expected in Puducherry and Karaikal.
Tamil Nadu Cyclonic Winds:
In addition, from September 10 until the 11th, the Gulf of Mannar, Tamil Nadu's coastal areas, and the adjoining Kumari Sea may experience cyclonic winds with speeds of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional gusts reaching 65 kmph.
Cyclonic winds of similar intensity are also anticipated over parts of the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised to avoid these areas due to the dangerous conditions.
Chennai:
The sky over Chennai is expected to be partly cloudy throughout the day. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum temperature is projected to be around 34°C, while the minimum temperature will range between 27°C and 28°C.
Coimbatore:
In Coimbatore, the weather will feature a partly cloudy sky. The maximum temperature is anticipated to reach 33°C, while the minimum temperature will be around 23°C.
