TN Weather Report: 10 Districts Under Heavy Rainfall Alert

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for significant weather changes across Tamil Nadu on August 13. Heavy rainfall is expected in 10 districts of Tamil Nadu and orange alert issued in two districts.
Heavy Rainfall:
The districts of Erode, Tirupur, Dindigul, Theni, Madurai, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari are expected to experience heavy rain in isolated locations. Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, and Salem districts are also likely to experience heavy rainfall, with conditions worsening throughout the day.
Orange Alert:
An Orange Alert has been issued due to the possibility of heavy rain in the hilly areas of Nilgiris and Coimbatore today.
A sub-tropical circulation is bringing light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30-40 km/h at isolated locations throughout Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Nilgiris and Coimbatore:
Heavy to very heavy rain is anticipated in the Ghat regions of Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts on August 13 and 14. As for today, the sky will be predominantly cloudy with intense weather conditions throughout the day. The maximum temperature will hover around 29°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to be between 20-22°C.
Kumari Sea Warning:
Strong winds of up to 55 km/h are expected in the Gulf of Mannar, southeast coastal areas, and the Kumari Sea. Fishermen are advised to avoid going into these waters due to unsafe conditions.
