TN Rural Local Body Election: Nomination Review Takes Place Today

Since yesterday was the last day to file nominations for rural local elections, many people filed their petitions with interest. The State Election Commission has directed the district election officials to set up flying squads in all the nine districts to ensure that the local elections are held honestly 24 hours a day.
Rural local government elections for the newly formed nine districts Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Tirupati, Ranipettai, Nellai, Tenkasi, Villupuram and Kallakurichi, will be held in two phases on the 6th and 9th. The deadline for filing nominations for this on Wednesday. Nominations will be considered today. September 25 being the last day to withdraw nominations, the election field is fierce.
In the rural local elections, the Naam Tamil Party has been allotted the agricultural symbol. In this election, the DMK alliance is seen as one team and the AIADMK alliance as another team. PMK, DMDK, Makkal Needhi Maiam, Naam Tamilar Katchi, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam are separate parties.
Elections are to be held for the posts of Village Panchayat Ward Member, Village Panchayat President, Panchayat Union Ward Member and District Panchayat Ward Member in the Panchayat Unions in each district.
48,635 candidates have filed nominations for the posts of village panchayat ward members. 11,393 candidates have filed nominations for the post of Village Panchayat President, 3,912 for the post of Panchayat Union Ward Member and 359 for the position of District Panchayat Ward Member. So far, 64,299 candidates have filed nominations in the rural local government elections for 27,33 posts.
Candidates filing for the posts started on the 15th and ended yesterday. While 64,299 nominations were filed in the first six days, many candidates filed their nominations yesterday. Consideration of the nominations is scheduled to take place today. And it is announced that September 25 is the last day to withdraw the nominations.
