All shops and commercial markets are allowed to function till 10 pm from Thursday. Tamilnadu Cheif Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami declared another unlock considering the Festive season.
Due to the pandemic, the government restricted the duration of commercial shops and other grocery shops to serve until a particular time. Currently, The state has a visible decrease in the number of new cases over the last few days. Thus the government decided to extend the function time till 10 pm.
Impending festive season and to promote economic recovery in Tamilnadu, Edappadi Palaniswami slackened another constraint. Vegetable and grocery shops, Restaurants, Bakeries, and all other shops, including tea stalls and commercial complexes, are permitted to function till 10 pm from October 22, CM confirmed yesterday.
He also said, "The government has been actively involved in protecting the people from coronavirus and extending relief to them. That is why the spread is under control and the recovery rate in the state being high in the country. Also, the death rate is less,"
Yesterday 3,086 people were infected with COVID in Tamil Nadu, which brings the total number of corona infections to 6,97,116. Totaly, 39 people died due to corona. The death toll has risen to 10,780. Meanwhile, 4,301 people were discharged after diligent treatment.
Presently, shops are allowed to open till 9 pm to control outspread. Festive times are approaching people would want to buy more things to celebrate the festival, which results in an unruly crowd. Extending the time limit could be an effective solution to avoid a hectic situation among people.
Barring shops located in full containment zones, all other shops can function up to 10 pm by following the safety Procedure such as wearing a mask and maintaining social distance to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV2.
