Tamil Nadu Weather Report: Chances Of Heavy Rain In 9 Districts

Due to the low atmospheric circulation prevailing over the West Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal for the next five days from today.

The Chennai Meteorological Department has warned that today, thunder and lightning rain is possible in 9 districts, including Chennai.

According to the weather report, "Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam and Ramanathapuram districts and Puducherry and Karaikal areas are likely to receive thunder and lightning by 10 am today. Due to the rain, waterlogging may occur in some places. Roads may be slippery."

Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Ramanathapuram districts received heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Sivagangai, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai districts and Karaikal areas received heavy rain at one or two places. Today, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places over coastal Tamil Nadu and some over interior Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal.

According to the Meteorological Department, widespread rain in various parts of Tamil Nadu is possible in the next 3 hours. Accordingly, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder in 9 districts, namely Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagai and Ramanathapuram.

For the next 24 hours, the Sky condition of Chennai is likely to be partly cloudy. Moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in some areas. Maximum temperature is likely to be 31-32°C, and minimum temperature is likely to be 24-25 °C.
