Tamil Nadu Weather Report: Heavy Rain For 5 days In Eight Districts

It has been raining heavily in Tamil Nadu for the past few weeks. Excess water discharge has caused flooding in rivers, and Dams are overflowing. The common people are facing hard times due to heavy rain. Heavy rain is continuous in the Nilgiri district with frequent power cuts.

The Meteorological Department has announced that heavy rains will likely occur at one or two places in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Tirupur and Tenkasi districts.

In a statement issued by the Meteorological Department today, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Theni, Puduvai and Karaikal today due to variation in the speed of westerly winds. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Tiruppur and Tenkasi districts will likely receive heavy rain at one or two places.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places over Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Theni, North Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal from 7th to 10th. As for Chennai, the sky will remain mostly cloudy for the next 24 hours. A few parts of the city may experience light to moderate rain.
