Tamil Nadu Weather Report: Heavy Rain In Chennai And Other Districts

The Chennai Meteorological Department has announced that it will rain in Chennai and suburbs for the next 3 hours. The depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal strengthened into a deep depression. As a result, heavy rain is expected in 9 districts, including Nagai and Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, the Meteorological Department said.

It has been reported that Light to moderate rain at many places over Coastal Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area; at a few places over Interior Tamilnadu with thunderstorms and lightning at one or two places is likely to occur over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area. 

Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai and Mayiladuthurai districts of Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.

Heavy rain warning has been given to isolated places over Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai and Mayiladuthurai districts of Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.

For the next 48 hours, the Sky condition of Chennai is likely to be partly cloudy. Moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in some areas.
