Tamil Nadu, to receive light to moderate rains today, forecasts RMC.
The regional meteorological center forecasts light to moderate rains in Tamil Nadu. The coastal and south of Tamil Nadu will get good rainfall from the trough, which is an elongated low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal. It has already brought 1 to 3 cms of rain in south India yesterday on 18 November. But Chennai will remain cloudy with only a couple of light showers.
Tamil Nadu will be blessed with more rains, is the forecast of all weather-predicting agencies for today on 19 November. It is good news to the farmers mostly in the south of Tamil Nadu and along with the coastal areas. It is by a trough that collects the moisture from the sea by easterly wind flow from the Equatorial Indian Ocean off the South Sri Lanka coast. It flows from there to the southwest Bay of Bengal off North Tamil Nadu. It is the best of northeast monsoon this season but depends on many local factors. But it has already brought rains of varying levels in the following areas.
- Tarangambadi in Nagapattinam got 3 cm of rain
- Ambasamudram, Sivagiri, Tenkasi, and Papanasam of Tirunelveli got 2 cm rain
- Anaikaranchatram Kollidam in Nagapattinam and Parangipettai of Cuddalore got 2 cm rain
- Usilampatti, Manimuthuraru, Rameswaram, Karaikal, and Watrap in Virudunagar all got 1 cm of rain
Rains on the coastal areas and south of Tamil Nadu will cheer the farmers to get enough rain for this season. And with only 40 days left of 2019, will more rain shower on Tamil Nadu is their expectation.
