Rains to continue in isolated places this weekend in Tamil Nadu confirms IMD: Chennai showered with rain again today, 7 December, early morning. The Chennai people once again were enthralled by the light showers in many areas.
Royapettah, Mylapore, Triplicane, Guindy Adambakkam, and Velachery were the lucky areas to receive rain this morning. Northeast monsoon still has the ammunition to bring more rains to Tamil Nadu confirms IMD.
IMD, in its circular, says that due to the atmospheric circulation over the Kanyakumari sea, there could be moderate rainfall in isolated places like Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, and Tirunelveli this weekend. Meanwhile, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, and Sivagangai districts are to receive a heavy downpour of rains.
There could be winds with speed of 40 to 50 kilometers, and the fishers are advised not to venture into the Kumari seas and the Mannar Gulf seas. Apart from the excess 14 cm of rain this season, the groundwater levels in many Chennai areas have increased the good news.
Northeast monsoon has brought more than its fill this year 2019. After 2015, for the past three years, the farmers were only looking at the sky for rain. It was near a drought situation last year. But 2019 brought surplus rain to the relief and happiness of the farmers.
Nearly half the level in most of the water bodies across the states is full, and experts say that there could be no water shortage in 2020. Also, the groundwater level after a long time has increased in highly populated cities like Chennai. With only a few days left for 2019, will Tamil Nadu witness one more cyclone to record break the number of cyclones has to be seen?
Northeast monsoon seems to continue to shower Tamil Nadu with more rains before the end of the year, are the experts' opinion and the wish of the farmers and Tamil people.
