Tamil Nadu Weather Forecast: Heavy Rain in Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Again the Northeast Monsoon has gained speed over the southern states of India. While the clouds over Chennai are already pouring down, Chennai Regional Meteorological Department has circulated a warning for heavy rain in most parts of Tamil Nadu. For the next 24 hours, the IMD of Chennai affirms heavy rains and thunderstorms across the state.
Earlier on November 17, 2019, the RMC said in its weather bulletin that a low-pressure region has formed in the Bay of Bengal. Due to the low pressure and convection, Tamil Nadu and Kerala will get maximum rain for the next 24 hours, said the RMC. The weather department also mentioned cities like Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, Tanjore, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, and Thuthukui under the heavy rain region.
The RMC has only marked the outer districts of Tamil Nadu for heavy rain while the interior regions will receive moderate rains. Also, the RMC warned the fishers to take cover from the wind that is about to blow at the speed of 40Km.
On the other side, another weather news source reported rain for the next five days. As per the report, a thunderstorm is likely to prevail over the state of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The states like Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are likely to get scattered rainfall in the upcoming days.
The weather report also claims rain for the Northeast part of India that will occur along with snow, especially in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. The report also suggested isolated rain in Andaman and Nicobar Island.
At a glance of rain in Tamil Nadu from November 1, 2019, to November 17, 2019, Nilgiris has received 616.2 mm of rain as the highest in the state. In contrast to Nilgiris, Karur received 157.3 mm of rainfall as the lowest in the state.
