Tamil Nadu Government Announces Sunday Lockdown And Other Restrictions

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a full curfew on Sunday as a measure to avoid the spread of corona. It is also said that the colleges will be shut. Night curfew has also been announced on other days. 

Omicron and Covid cases have been continuously hiking across India in the past few weeks. This is causing a stir among the public and the government. Schools are shut, and complete lockdown is already announced in many states. The situation in Delhi is turning out to be more challenging in recent days.

There are more than 2500 daily corona cases in Tamil Nadu. So far, 121 people in Tamil Nadu have Omicron. Chief Minister Stalin yesterday discussed whether additional restrictions should be imposed on the increasing number of Omicron cases in Tamil Nadu. Consultations were also held on the closure of theatres and bars on weekends.

From yesterday the lockdown news is aired across the Tamil Nadu state. It was informed that Cheif Minister Stalin would have a consultative meeting to discuss this regard. The public was very eager to know about the restrictions and details about the lockdown. As expected earlier, the New Year restriction on night curfew will be regulated.

Accordingly, curfew has been declared from 10 pm to 5 am on all days except Sunday. Additional restrictions have been announced in Tamil Nadu following a consultative meeting chaired by Chief Minister Stalin. Health Minister Ma Subramanian, health professionals, doctors and officials attended the meeting. In this situation, a complete curfew will be implemented in Tamil Nadu on Sundays, said Minister Ma. Subramanian said.

Higher education Minister Ponmudi made sure that the exams would be postponed and the students would be given study holiday. In addition, he clearly stated that the exams would be conducted offline.
