Tamil Nadu Covid Update: High Cases At Chennai, Coimbatore And Erode

In the last 24 hours, the Tamil Nadu Government has confirmed 30,580 Covid positive cases in which 40 people died, and 24,283 have recovered. The cases dropped to 30,580 yesterday from 30,744 on Saturday. The cases are slightly decreasing in Tamil Nadu by the restrictions performed by the state government.
In Tamil Nadu, 1,57,732 samples were tested by the Government. Among the tested samples, 30,580 cases were tested positive across the state. Forty people have died due to Govt infections. 6 people died in Chengalpattu. Three died in Cuddalore and two in Coimbatore. Fifteen died at a private hospital and 25 at a government hospital. As a result, the death toll from the virus has risen to 37,218.
Yesterday, 13 people from overseas were diagnosed with covid. The number of covid positive cases in Chennai has come down to 6,383 yesterday (January 23) from 6,452. Apart from Chennai, 24,197 people are infected in 36 districts.
Covid 19 has been confirmed for 1841 people in Chengalpattu. In Coimbatore, 3912 people have been diagnosed with corona infection. 560 people have been confirmed infected in Kanchipuram and 622 in Madurai. 1248 people were affected in Kanyakumari, 751 in Tiruvallur and 757 in Trichy.
Corona has been confirmed in 1507 people in Tirupur, 1220 in Erode, 1074 in Salem, 695 in Namakkal and 1123 in Thanjavur, 198 people in Vellore, 1010 in Krishnagiri, 428 in Thoothukudi, 608 in Nellai and 524 in Virudhunagar. A high number of cases are found in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Thanjavur and Tiruppur.
The night curfew and the weekend lockdowns are finding some benefits in the decline of Covid cases across the state. The Government of Tamil Nadu keeps reminding about the seriousness of Covid 19. It is a must to follow Covid protocols, as said by Health Ministry. Wearing a mask is mandatory for people who are not using it properly. In many public places, social distancing is not maintained.
