Tambaram School: Parents Protest For 3x Fee Hike Without Notice

Tambaram School Issue

A private school in Tambaram, Chennai increased the second-term fee by three times the previous amount without prior notice to the parents. This significant fee hike has sparked widespread outrage, leading to protests from concerned parents.

School Fee Increase:

Currently, Tamil Nadu schools are approaching the second term exams in October. In this case, a Private school in Chennai near Keelkattalai got in trouble after increasing 3 times the second-term fees. News of the fee hike reached parents through students, creating a wave of shock among the parents.

Sources say that the private school is an English Medium school that has over 3000 students from LKG to 12th standard which has significantly increased the school fees to three times more than the previous fees.

Parents Protest:

Shocked by the sudden fee increase, student's parents formed a protest in the school. There were at least 1000 students' parents involved in the protest.

During the protest, law enforcement officers were present to maintain order. Tensions arose between the school administration and the parents, leading to a lengthy meeting that lasted at least three hours. Despite the extensive discussions, no resolutions were reached.

Reports indicate that the school administration attempted to defuse the situation by sending students home with their parents, which only served to escalate the conflict. Subsequently, the school management relented and allowed the students to return to the premises following the parents' protest.

After the neverending argument, the school issued a notice to schedule a meeting within the next ten days to address the issue. Yet, they have not provided any substantial explanation for the fee increase,

With the protest having temporarily subsided, parents have taken their children home, awaiting further communication from the school.
