TN Weather Report: Salem Heavy Rain Leaves Waterlogged Roads

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall for 10 districts across Tamil Nadu. After an hour of heavy rain on October 24, the roads in Salem are waterlogged, causing inconvenience to locals.

Salem Rains:

In the past few days, Salem has been hit by heavy rainfall, causing significant inconvenience for locals. Today, the city experienced an hour of intense rain, leading to waterlogged roads and disrupting traffic. The consistent rainfall over the past few days has only worsened the situation for commuters in the region.

Heavy Rainfall Areas:

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in isolated areas, particularly in the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Salem, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, and Kallakurichi districts. 

Additionally, light to moderate rain is anticipated in several locations, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Chennai:

In Chennai, the sky condition is expected to be partly cloudy with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in some areas. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 35-36°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 26-27°C.

Coimbatore:

Coimbatore expects a cloudy day with thunderstorms. The maximum temperature will reach 31°C, while the minimum will dip to 23°C. 

Cyclone Dana Updates:

Cyclonic storm Dana is currently heading towards coastal Odisha and is expected to make landfall early on the morning of October 25th. The storm will bring heavy rains and thunderstorms to the state, as well as to the southern part of West Bengal. It poses a threat to nearly half of Odisha's population after making landfall.
