Chennai Earthquake: Mild earthquake Was Reported in Chennai Today

A mild earthquake measuring 5.1 was felt in some parts of Chennai. The National Seismological Surveillance Center officially announced.
An earthquake shook the Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh today, 10 km in the Bay of Bengal. There was an earthquake at depth. It is about 320 km east of Chennai, and to notice, and It was centred in the distant Bay of Bengal.
The quake was reported at 5.1 on the Richter scale. The earthquake affected Besant Nagar, Alwarpet, Adyar, Anna Nagar, Thiyagaraya Nagar, Nungambakkam, Alandur, Mylapore, Madhavaram and Kolathur in Chennai. The National Seismological Surveillance Center confirmed this.
According to the US Geological Survey, the epicentre was reported at 12.35 pm in the Bay of Bengal, 227 km south-east of a village in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district. It is located at a distance of 320 km from the east-northeast of Chennai. The epicentre was reported below the ground; however, no tsunami alert was issued.
Based on this, it has been reported that an earthquake has been felt in Chennai due to the earthquake's impact in the Bay of Bengal. A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook Chennai near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. 296 km from Kakinada. 10 km eastward in the sea. There was an earthquake at depth.
