The resignations of the lead party members in Makkal Needhi Maiam sprouted much chaos after the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election. After the resignation of the party members, it was realized that were many clashes between the party members, even during the election campaigns. After leaving the Makkal Needhi Maiam, Mahendran will join the DMK tomorrow at 5 pm at the Anna Arivalayam in Chennai in the presence of Stalin.
Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam contested the assembly elections for the first time. In this, it formed an alliance with All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi and Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi. The Makkal Needhi Maiam failed in all the constituencies in which it contested during the Tamil Nadu Election 2021. The party leader Kamal Haasan also lost to Nirmala Srinivasan in the Coimbatore South constituency.
Many of the party's top executives left the party after its defeat in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections 2021. Makkal Needhi Maiam executives Ponraj Vellaichamy, CK Kumaravel, Maurya, Santosh Babu, and others left the party after the Tamil Nadu Election 2021.
Especially, the resignation of Mahendran, the Makkal Needhi Maiam party's vice-president, who is known to be the next important face after Kamal in the party, caused a great stir. He put forward harsh criticisms that there was no democracy and unity in the party, and the leader did not respect the voice of party executives. He said that he expected that Kamal Haasan to change after the election.
But he has not changed and has levelled accusations. At the same time, he had stated that he would definitely travel in politics as soon as word spread that he had an internet presence in the DMK. In this situation, Mahendran, who has left the Makkal Needhi Maiam, will join the DMK tomorrow.
Mahendran will join the DMK tomorrow at 5 pm at the Anna Arivalayam in Chennai in the presence of Stalin. The visit of Mahendran, who was the face of Makkal Needhi Maiam in the Kongu region, will strengthen the DMK there.
In the Kongu region, the DMK is a bit dull comparatively. The DMK had lost several seats in the Kongu region even in the last assembly elections held on April 6, 2021. The DMK could not win a single seat, especially in the Coimbatore district. Under these circumstances, there is no doubt that Mahendran's joining the DMK will definitely strengthen its presence in the Kongu region.
