Karur People Can See the Ring of Fire of Solar Eclipse 2019

When and how to view the solar eclipse tomorrow? Tomorrow, December 26, 2019, only people in ten districts of Tamil Nadu are lucky enough to view the rare solar eclipse of 2019, which comes after 9 years. And people in Karur are the most fortunate to view it best among them.

Starting from tomorrow 8:05 AM to 11:16 AM for nearly three and a half hours, these people can see the solar eclipse or known as Surya Grahan in many stages. More than 5,000 astronomical scientists have arrived in Tamil Nadu to view the solar eclipse. If you miss the opportunity to see Surya Grahan tomorrow, you have to wait only until May 2031 to see a similar one again.

In Odisha schools, colleges, government offices will remain closed on 26 December due to the occurrence of the solar eclipse. In Karur, arrangements have been made for more than one lakh people to watch the solar eclipse. Jayamurugan, Member of the executive committee of Tamil Nadu Science Directorate, visited Karur regarding the arrangements for viewing the solar eclipse. He spoke to the PRESS which includes

Altogether arrangements have been made with the provision of the safety glass to more than one crore people to see across Tamil Nadu. People should see the solar eclipse only through a lens and that too, not more than ten seconds.

Many temples across Tamil Nadu have announced a change of worship timings. Natarajan, the deputy commissioner of Madurai Meenatchi Amman Temple, said due to solar eclipse, the temple will be open for devotees only from 4 PM of December 26. Though it opens at 12, only special pujas will be performed to close and open again at 4 PM.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes in between the sun and earth. Due to sun outage on earth, the moon's shadow falls on earth to form a solar eclipse. If it covers the sun entirely, it is a full solar eclipse; it is known as Ring of Fire, and if it is in part, then it is a partial solar eclipse. In tomorrow's solar eclipse, the moon covers 93 % of the sun's disc.
