Kamal Haasan Files a Case Against CAA in Supreme Court: Kamal Haasan, the actor turned politician, considers that the Citizenship Amendment Act is against the spirit of the nation. Along with the Congress, Kamala Haasan has moved the Supreme court against the CAA.
As per the reports from the political outfit (Makkal Needhi Maiam) of actor Kamal Haasan, a petition has been filed against the Act on Monday Morning.
On December 10, 2019, MNM Chief Mr. Kamal Haasan has tweeted, asking why the bill neglected the Tamil and Muslims who have experienced genocide and discrimination in Sri Lanka if the bill is not a vote garnering measure. The tweet has obtained certain rumble from the supporters of the bill and backed by those who were against the bill.
Now, the Chief of MNM has moved to the court with opposition papers to file a case over the Citizenship Amendment Act that has been signed by the President Ram Nath Govind following the discussion in both houses.
Kamal Haasan, who was frequently criticized as not acting outside of tweets, has now acted against the most controversial act of the Central Government while the State Government of Tamil Nadu is in favor of the Act.
