How To Apply E-Pass (2024) To Ooty And Kodaikanal In Official Website?

Madras High Court issued the order for non-residents of Ooty and Kodaikanal to get an e-pass to enter the hill station. The order will be strictly followed from May 7 to June 30. 

Summer Vacation To Ooty And Kodaikanal:

This 2024 summer, the hot weather starts even before the summer season starts. Some states in Tamilnadu even recorded above 107 degrees of heat waves. To escape from the extreme heat, people start to move to hill stations like Kodaikanal and Ooty.

In this situation, the government has made it mandatory for all visitors to Ooty and Kodaikanal to possess an e-pass to protect the environment. This decision was implemented due to the record of 20,000 vehicles visiting Nilgiris every day. The alert was given in the checkpost only to permit vehicles with Epass.

This order will be followed strictly from May 7 to June 30, and there will be no restrictions for the residents of Ooty and Kodaikanal. To get an e-pass, one should follow the same procedure as in Covid days.

What is an E-Pass?

E-Pass means Electronic Payment And Application System Of Scholarships. An e-Pass is a permit that allows individuals to travel outside their residence for work-related purposes.

To obtain an e-pass, an individual must submit personal information, cab/driver details, and other necessary documents on government websites as part of the e-pass application process.

How to apply for an E-pass Ooty or Kodaikanal Online?

 

• To get an e-pass, a person should visit a Tamilnadu government Epass official website https://epass.tnega.org/home.
• On the opened page, enter your mobile number, and the captcha code appears on the screen.
• The website allows the person to fill out the form, and give the details to the site, and provide necessary documents. The verification will happen by sending an OTP to your registered phone number.
• After entering the OTP, the person will be directed to the page where the person can apply for both personal and business travel.
• You will get the approval message within 24 hours of the application.

 

Requirements for Ooty And Kodaikanal E-Pass Online?

• After submitting the details like car number, and number of days stay in the hill stations.
• Name, age and mobile number of the person who is travelling along with you ismandatory to fill.
• The person needs to submit an Aadhar Card or elector ID, PAN Card, address proof, vehicle license, and employment ID to avail of the e-pass.

This e-Pass needs to be carried with you when you are traveling as you will be stopped by personnel to check your details.
