Schools and Colleges in Tamil Nadu Announces Holiday due to Heavy rain

School holidays today in Tamil Nadu due to heavy rains: Northeast monsoon intensifies to bring rains across Tamil Nadu. Chennai metrological center confirms further showers today due to low pressure in the Kanyakumari sea. It further says moderate to heavy rains will lash out to most of the districts of Tamil Nadu.

Eight district administrations have declared holidays for schools on Wednesday. Fishers are not advised to go for fishing in southern parts of Tamil Nadu. Farmers are happy with the heavy rains lashing in the delta and other catchment areas of Tamil Nadu.

Both schools and colleges are shut today in the following districts

Tirunelveli
Toothkudi
Vellore
Sivagangai

The following districts shut only schools today

Madurai
Ramanathapuram
Theni
Virudunagar

Schools on the foothills of the Kodaikanal hills in Dindigul district will be closed today.

Also, the district administration of Chennai Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram has announced that the schools and colleges will function as usual today. Northeast monsoon is not only cheering the farmers but also students of eight districts to have one more Diwali holidays today due to heavy rains.
