A 25-year-old software engineer and her parents were found dead in their house on Feb 22 in Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore. The deceased people named daughter Diya Gayathri, 25, Father Ganesan, 65, and Mother Vimala, 56, were living in TVS Nagar. They were natives of Kerala.
Diya was working at a software company in Bengaluru. She married Deekshit in September 2023, who is also working in a software company in Bengaluru. Diya's husband Deekshit's family has been settled in Vadavalli, Coimbatore. After their marriage, the couple were staying in Bengaluru.
The couple often had differences of opinion and misunderstandings, and Diya was separated from her husband for the past month and lived with her parents. Diya and her parents were completely upset over her marital breakdown.
Diya's Father, Ganesan, was talking to one of his relatives, Anilkumar, in Kerala on Feb 21 about his daughter's marriage breakdown and their family situation. Later that night, all three switched off their mobile phones.
On the following morning, Anilkumar tried to reach them, but none of them were responding. So, he went to their house in Kavundampalayam and found that the door was locked inside. So he alerted the police, and the police came and found the dead body of the three in their bedroom.
The police later revealed that they had consumed cow dung powder, which is also known as a chemical dye. The bodies were sent to Coimbatore Medical College for post-mortem and further medical procedures.
The police then filed a case and started the investigation. Diya's husband, Deekshit, is also investigated regarding the death of three, as many deaths have fallen under dowry cases in recent times.
