Sharmila became more popular after this. Her interviews went viral on YouTube Channels. In June last year, BJP's Coimbatore MLA Vanathi Srinivasan travelled to Gandhipuram in a bus driven by Sharmila and greeted her.
A few days after that, DMK MP Kanimozhi also travelled in a bus driven by Sharmila. Then she congratulated Sharmila and got down shortly. After this incident, the bus driver, Sharmila, was dismissed from the job.
Politician and Actor Kamal Haasan called and spoke to Sharmila. He gifted a car worth Rs.16 lakh. She later started to earn by working as a service taxi driver.
In this case, it is said that on February 2nd, the car driven by Sharmila was stopped at Sanganur junction on Sakthi Road, Coimbatore, by Special Deputy Police Inspector Rajeshwari of Kattur Traffic Police Station, who was on duty there.
An argument broke out between them as they drove the vehicle to obstruct traffic. Meanwhile, Sharmila had posted a video of Rajeshwari on her Instagram page, in which she demanded bribes and threatened them and that higher authorities should take action.
In this situation, Cybercrime police have registered a case against the driver, Sharmila, on her complaint and are investigating. Driver Sharmila has been booked for spreading defamatory information about the police using her Instagram popularity. Although Sharmila is an inspirational model to many women, there are often criticisms against her.
