Class 5 Girl Raped And Murdered By Adoptive Parents In Madurai

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered by her foster parents in Kosakulam, Madurai City. 

The accused, Senthilkumar, an army officer for over 25 years, and his wife Chandrapandi were entrusted with the girl's care after her father remarried following her mother's death.

The girl reportedly entered the toilet on Thursday evening and didn't respond. The foster parents, after calling neighbours for help, broke down the door and rushed her to a private hospital. The hospital, however, referred her to the government hospital, where she was declared dead.

The Koodal Pudur police initially registered a case of suspicious death. However, a post-mortem examination revealed signs of sexual assault and murder.

Investigation And Arrest:

During interrogation, the couple said the 48-year-old army subedar had sexually assaulted his 11-year-old adoptive daughter and then strangled her to death inside the bathroom. Later, he and his wife Chandrapandi tried to cover up the crime by claiming that the girl had suddenly fainted and needed medical help.

Following a thorough investigation, police arrested both Senthilkumar and Chandrapandi.  Senthilkumar is accused of sexual assault and murder, while Chandrapandi is charged with attempting to conceal the crime. This horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the community.
