Chennai Rains: Heavy Rain Expected Across TN From December 3

An intense low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has now strengthened into a low-pressure zone. The Meteorological Center said it is likely to strengthen into a 3-day cyclone. This Cyclone is to be named 'Cyclone Michaung'.

In this situation, Balachandran, head of the Meteorological Center, said in a press conference, "The depression is centred about 780 km southeast of Chennai. It will intensify into a deep depression tomorrow and become a cyclonic storm.

The Cyclone will form on December 3 and cross the coast between Chennai and Machilipatnam on December 4. Due to this, heavy rain is likely in Delta districts today and tomorrow. On December 3, the north coastal districts from Chennai to Cuddalore will receive heavy rain. Chennai and Tiruvallur will receive very heavy rain on December 4. 

For the next four days, fishermen should not go to South West Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu coastal areas and Andhra coastal areas," he said.
