Bokkapuram Mariamman Temple festival 2024 Garnered Tourist Attention

Masinagudi Bokkapuram Mariamman Temple festival has been started and celebrated by the tribes and locals.

The 5-day festival has been started at the famous  Bokkapuram Mariamman Temple near Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Masinagudi. More than one lakh devotees from the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode and Karnataka visit the Goddess during the festival.

Different communities have their own unique traditions and cultures. Likewise, the ways in which people worship and celebrate God can differ greatly from one another. For example, how tribals worship their God is often admirable and may seem unfamiliar to us.

Bokkapuram Mariamman Temple has many uniquenesses and will be visited by tourists worldwide. Since it is situated in the middle of the forest surrounded by the resorts, many guests visiting Mudumalai, Masinagudi and Ooty will show interest in visiting the temple occasionally.

Not only Hindus but also people of other religions will attend the festival to witness the various events that will be held. The tribal dance and music performances make the temple festival even more unique. Additionally, there will be a variety of games and activities for children to enjoy.

Following the hoisting of the flag, various special worships were held, such as Thiruvilakku worship to the goddess, Mahadeepharatana with decorations, Puliyattam, holy water procession, Maavilakku worship and Poo Karagam and Chariot Procession. Like another predominant temple, Bokkapuram Mariamma Temple has a deep history to treasure.
