Another storm following Kyarr Cyclone will hit Kanyakumari: Indian Meteorological Department has sent warning to the fisherfolks to not to go fishing from Tuesday. Another possible cyclone is about to hit Kanyakumari, while around 55 fishermen are reportedly stuck within the Arabian Sea in the route of prevailing Kyarr cyclone.
Kyarr cyclone, which is currently sustaining itself near the shores of Oman, arose on 25th October near India. Now, the Regional Meteorological Center has announced a new possible Cyclone coming from Sri Lanka. As per the statement of RMC, the new cyclone will move away from Lanka through Palk Strait and reach Kanyakumari within today. The latest storm will possibly get intense upon its arrival near Lakshadweep, and the Arabian sea said the RMC.
A third level warning sign has also been flagged in Kanyakumari. Fishers are requested to keep their feet off the boats.
While asking the Tamil Nadu Fishery Department about the fisherfolks who are already gone into the oceans, officials said they have contacted a few and advised to reach any nearest shores as soon as possible. The official also fears that the uncontacted rest will be sent off to Oman shores by Kyarr. So, help from Oman's government has been requested to save our fishermen, said the fishery department officials.
The RMC also sent a notification upon possible heavy rain to delta regions, Tirunelveli, Thiruvannamalai, Thiruvallur along with Kanyakumari and Thoothukudi. RMC also warned that this situation would last for another couple of days.
