The Tamil Nadu government recently issued an order to link the Aadhaar number with the electricity connection number. A petition was filed in the Madras High Court against this. In this situation, it has ordered to dismiss the petition opposing the linking of the Aadhaar number with the electricity connection number.
National People's Party leader Ravi had filed a petition in the Madras High Court. The petitioner, on his part, said that Aadhaar linking could be linked as one per household. If the tenant is attached and the house is vacated, the tenant will suffer. Owners will need help to render proper bills.
The government, which is conducting a special campaign to link the Aadhaar number, has yet to announce what documents can be provided instead of the above and said in its petition that Aadhaar number linking should be provided under the state package for getting the subsidy.
The hearing on the petition was going on before a bench of Justice Raja and Bharatha Chakravarthy. The lawyer appearing for the government stated that the notices to link the Aadhaar number with an electricity connection were issued after proper investigations were conducted and there were no irregularities.
It was requested that this is an issue between the owner and the tenant. For this purpose, the scheme of linking the Aadhaar number with an electricity connection cannot be cancelled, so this petition should be dismissed.
The hearing on the case was held last week. In this case, the verdict was delivered today. Accordingly, in the judgement, the petition opposing the linking of the Aadhaar number with the electricity connection was dismissed.
