The second minister affected by COVID 19: Thangamani, the electricity minister is admitted to a private hospital in Chennai due to COVID 19 infection. He becomes the second minister after higher education minister KP Anbalagan still under treatment for COVID 19. Now there are rumors of the CM to take a test as minister Thangamani met CM only yesterday. Also, he had a party meeting with four other ministers, including SP Velumani.
Coronavirus in Tamil Nadu: 42,369 highest number of sample tests taken today, take the total tally of the Tamil Nadu test count to nearly 15 lakhs. At 14,91,783 samples tested so far in, Tamil Nadu, it is the state with the highest number of tests and second place in the number of infections. Experts believe the first three states with the most top infection are Maharasthra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi, where there are not only more tests taken by the respective government but also more transparency than other the states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and others.
Coronavirus in Chennai: Chennai continues with only around 1,200 cases for the third straight day, irrespective of the above 4,000 levels or below it. Experts think that the reduction in the new cases may be due only to the intense lockdown from June 19. And only from July 20, when 15 days have been crossed after lifting the lockdown on July 5, the real situation in Chennai will be known.
If the people are not following social distancing and other standard norms, again, the infections may rise after July 20 is the experts' opinion. Also, the deaths continue to be high in Chennai that includes a 27 days old baby and young people without comorbid conditions. It is the worry of the people, and after July 20, if there is a rise in infection cases also, then it could be dangerous in Chennai too.
Coronavirus in Tamil Nadu districts: Apart from the continuous rise of new infections, now the districts started to record more deaths due to COVID 19. Out of the 65 deaths today, 23 were from Chennai, and the remaining were from the other districts that include
Chengalpattu - 7, Madurai - 9, Trichy - 6, Tiruvallur - 6, and Ramanathapuram - 5
Now the focus of the government should be more in reducing the deaths is the opinion of experts. The increase in the infections and deaths in the districts will end in a catastrophe in the future. Hence it is time for the people to be safe at home and only come out with masks and follow standard safety procedures to be alive.
