Two were arrested near Vellore for causing an accident, beating and stealing money from the 23-year-old in Katpadi and police searching for the other accused involved in the crime. This tragic incident has created a shock for the local residents.

The Bike Accident:

The victim, Kamal Vamshi, from Andhra Pradesh was en route to Katpadi when he collided with a two-wheeler driven by three young men traveling in the opposite direction. The collision, which was minor, quickly escalated into a violent conflict.

Trio's Assault:

The trio, attempting to manipulate the situation, demanded compensation for alleged bike repair costs. When Kamal Vamshi refused to comply, they responded with physical aggression.

During the assault, the young men forcibly extracted ₹10,000 from Kamal Vamshi's G Pay and also stole his gold ring. After the difficult experience, Vamshi managed to reach and report the incident to the Katpadi police station.

Suspects:

In response, local law enforcement began an investigation, focusing their efforts on two suspicious individuals encountered in Kalpudur. The suspects' improper and inconsistent answers during questioning raised more suspensions on them.

Police Arrest:

Upon further interrogation, it was revealed that these individuals were involved in the extortion and theft of Kamal Vamshi. The arrested accused have been identified as Suresh (25) and Prasath (29), both from Vandranthangal near Katpadi. Another suspect, Rohit (22) from Katpadi, is still needed to be found.

Following their arrest, Suresh and Prasath have been detained at the Vellore prison while the investigation continues. Authorities are actively searching for Rohit and any other potential accomplices involved in the crime.

Nature Of The Crime:

This type of crime mainly occurs on highways or deserted roads, where individuals create fake accidents in order to scam money from travellers. Initially, they pretend that the other party is responsible for the "accident" and demand money from them. If the travellers refuse to pay, they may be assaulted and robbed of their money.
