Coronavirus Tamil Nadu, 178 infection cases reported in Salem today

Chennai improving with the intense lockdown: Though the infection cases have crossed 60,000 in Chennai, many people are cured in many zones. Royapuram and Tondairpet zones, which were the worst affected, are now only with 30 % COVID 19 patients, with 70 % going home free of COVID 19. Prakash, the Chennai Corporation Commissioner, has informed the media of setting up of 500 camps in Chennai for daily treatment of COVID 19 patients to free them from the disease. If the recovery rate increases in Chennai in the coming days, it could be a significant relief.

Salem surprise rise in infection cases: Out of the 178 infection cases reported in Salem today, 58 were those who recently attended a funeral. An official of the Ministry of Foreign Trade died in Coimbatore and was buried in Pannavaadi in Salem district. Out of the 65 who came to the burial, 58 are now tested positive. Sources confirm that most of them did not wear masks or follow social distancing during the funeral.

Madurai menace of covid 19: Even after the sudden intense lockdown from June 21 for the past ten days, there is a continuous rise in coronavirus infection cases in Madurai It is becoming a big worry for the authorities as the number of instances has crossed 2,000 with nearly 300 infections daily.

Though Chennai and the adjoining three districts are rising in cases, appropriate steps are taken to control them soon. But Madurai, surrounded by thousands of villages, could become dangerous if the virus spreads into the interior parts. Though the intense lockdown is in place until July 5, if it is not continued, it will be a disaster for the people living in Madurai's surrounding villages.

The chief minister announced free food for all the five district disabled, older, and poor people until July 5. Apart from the Amma eateries, there are now many community kitchens to provide such free food. People have to be careful and aware of coronavirus' crystal clear danger to save their lives and livelihood in the coming days.
