Coimbatore: 10-Year-Old Girl Dies from Severe Abuse by Mother

Coimbatore Mother Attacks Daughter

The entire state of Tamil Nadu is reeling in shock and grief following a deeply disturbing incident in Coimbatore, where a 10-year-old girl, Anu Shree, succumbed to fatal injuries allegedly inflicted by her own mother. The tragic death of the young girl has sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice.

The Incident:

Dakshinamoorthy (39), a resident of Telangupalayam Meiyappan in Coimbatore, rushed his daughter, Anu Shree, to a nearby private hospital on May 17th, claiming she had suddenly fallen from the bed. The child was then transferred to the Coimbatore Government Hospital, where doctors, after examining her, confirmed that she had already passed away. A devastated Dakshinamoorthy immediately filed a complaint with the Selvapuram police.

Shocking Revelations:

The post-mortem report, which left both police officers and doctors in a state of shock, revealed 33 injuries on Anu Shree's body. The findings raised suspicions of foul play and confirmed that her death was not accidental.

Upon further investigation, the police questioned Anu Shree's mother, Santhalakshmi (33), who confessed to beating and torturing her daughter for years. The autopsy detailed extensive muscular damage, multiple tears in various muscle groups, and internal injuries consistent with prolonged physical trauma. The report indicated that Anu Shree's death was due to kidney failure, caused by a blood clot linked to injuries from being struck with a spoon.

Public Outcry:

The brutality of the incident has sent shockwaves across Tamil Nadu. Citizens are expressing their anger and sorrow, demanding stringent action against Santhalakshmi. The police have arrested her, and she is currently in custody.

Call for Justice:

The tragic loss of Anu Shree has ignited a conversation about child abuse and the need for stringent measures to protect vulnerable children. The public's outrage reflects a collective call for justice and the hope that such a horrifying incident never occurs again.

As the state mourns the loss of a young life, authorities are urged to ensure that justice is served and that the memory of Anu Shree prompts a stronger stance against child abuse.
