Chennai Met Department Forecast Heavy Rain On December 4 and 5

The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the southern districts on December 4 and 5. The northeast monsoon has intensified. In this case, the depression formed near the Andamans has turned into a severe depression.

This depression will strengthen into a depression over the next 12 hours. The storm is expected to intensify in the next 24 hours. The storm was named Jawad. After that, it will intensify further and move in a north-westerly direction near northern Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on the morning of December 4th, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, southern Karnataka and Kerala are expected to receive more rainfall. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast 132 per cent more rain than normal in the above-mentioned states. 

The Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha regions have been issued an 'orange alert' for heavy rains tomorrow and a 'red alert' for the next day due to the storm forming in the Bay of Bengal.
