Opposition once again united due to the EC's decision to curtail campaign in West Bengal

With yesterday's last two meetings of Modi, there is no schedule of the campaign for him in West Bengal today. But today was supposed to be the last day of the campaign in West Bengal. The reason cited by the election commission for cutting short the campaign in West Bengal is the violence during the BJP President Amit Shah's rally on Wednesday.
Opposition parties to meet Election Commission to lift the ban on the campaign
Mayavati, Akhilesh Yadav, Kejrival, Congress, Communists, and many other opposition leaders vehemently opposed the decision of election commission. They all in one voice it is favoring BJP and is acting on the orders of Modi and Amit Shah. Three parties, including the Congress, have submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission to revoke the 20 hours ban of the
campaign in West Bengal.
Sonia Gandhi convenes opposition meeting on 23rd May
This campaign ban by Election commission which is first of its kind is seen as providing a better opportunity to BJP by all parties. Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi, the seasoned politician who was responsible for bringing the opposition together in 2004 to come to power, has convened opposition meeting.
