Local Body Election Tamil Nadu: Coimbatore Shows Positive Result for AIADMK

Coimbatore Rural Local Body Election Results: Rural local elections were held in Tamil Nadu on December 27 and 30 last year. The results began on 2nd January 2020 and were published until 03/01/2020. 76.19% of the votes were cast in the first phase, and 77% of the votes were cast in the second phase in the rural local body government elections, respectively.
The local body election was held in the 12 Panchayat Unions -Thondamuthur, Madhukkarai, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi, Anamalai, Sulur, Sulthanpet, Annur, Karamadai, Perianaickenpalayam of the Coimbatore district.
Out of 12, Annur and Sulur Panchayat results were in standby and announced today, whereas the other ten local bodies celebrated the victory by firing crackers and sharing sweets to the public.
In the Election Results for District Councilors of Coimbatore, the AIADMK has won 13 out of 17 seats along with alliances. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam holds 11 seats, and Bharatiya Janata Party secures two seats. The remaining four parts of the rural election candidates in Coimbatore belong to Dravida Munnetra Kalam(DMK) party.
Though the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam sets back with DMK in the District and Panchayat Union seats, the AIADMK leads in both District and Panchayat Union Councilor elections in the Coimbatore district.
Among the 155 Panchayat Union seats in Coimbatore district, AIADMK has won 91 seats, DMK won 56 seats, whereas independent candidates occupied eight seats.
Meanwhile, election officers distributed the certificates for the winning candidates without delay to end the local body election duties.
Thereby in Tamilnadu local body polls of 27 districts, DMK leads the throne of the local body by 234 seats in District Panchayat and 2131 seats in Panchayat Union out of 515 District Panchayat seats and 5067 Panchayat union seats. Whereas, AIADMK is ahead by 213 and 1946, respectively, while the other independent and party candidates secured 2 District Panchayat and 471Panchayat Union seats collectively.
