Wayanad Landslide: Death Toll Climbs to 276, 200 Still Missing

The death toll from the devastating landslides in Wayanad has risen to 276, and the number is expected to increase as rescue operations continue through the extensive debris. Over 200 people have been injured, and more than 200 individuals remain missing.
Jio's Response:
In response to the crisis, Reliance Jio has significantly boosted its network capacity to meet the increased communication demands. At the request of state disaster management authorities, Jio has also established an additional dedicated tower in the affected area to improve connectivity and support ongoing relief efforts.
Congress Leader's Visit:
Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had planned to visit Wayanad to support those impacted by the landslides and meet with affected families. However, their visit, initially scheduled for Wednesday morning, has been postponed due to continuous heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
In this case, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will visit the Wayanad today (August 1). The Congress sources have indicated that the leaders will visit relief camps at the Government Higher Secondary School and St. Joseph UP School in Meppadi, as well as Dr. Moopen's Medical College in Meppadi.
