UPSC Exams 2020: UPSC Released the Revised Exam Time Table for the year 2020

The ten lakh civil service exam aspirants in India can write their UPSC exams on October 4. Originally planned on May 31, it was postponed to June 2 due to lockdown until May 31. With lockdown 5.0 to be active until June 30, the UPSC has announced this new date. This nation's topmost exam decides its various administrative officers by selecting the successful candidates in IAS, IPS, IFS, and others. Also, the preliminary exams for the forest service through CS (P) examination is on the same October 4.
UPSC preliminary exams
One of the prestigious and also the toughest exams in India is the UPSC or union public service commission exams. Every year the UPSC board conducts the initial preliminary exams during April and May. On average, 10 lakh candidates write the preliminary exams. The preliminary exams can be written in both English and Hindi.
It has two question papers with total marks of 400 and a writing time of two hours for each. Both the question papers contain multiple-choice questions from general studies and CSAT or civil service aptitude test. The first one will have 100 questions and the second one with 80 questions. Candidates who get more than 33 % in the preliminary exams will be eligible for writing the main exams.

UPSC main exams and selection
Usually, the main exams will be conducted in June, and there are two parts A and B, both carrying 300 marks. There is no percentage and only ranking system for selection in the mains, proportionate to the approximate total number of civil service vacancies for the next year in India.
With coronavirus creating havoc in India, only those selected from these UPSC exams to become IAS and IPS officers who are now in charge of formulating policies to control the virus among various measures and schemes for the welfare of the country. Now even these exams are postponed to October 4, and the mains will be in one or two months after the preliminary UPSC exams.
