Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Writes Letter To Modi Regarding AIIMS Madurai

MK Stalin wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi asking him to immediately start setting up an AIIMS hospital in Madurai. He also stressed that the officers appointed for this purpose should be given full powers to carry out the tasks.
In that letter, CM Stalin wrote the work for the AIIMS Hospital at Thoppur, Madurai, should be expedited. The foundation stone was laid by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on January 27, 2019 to start the AIIMS Hospital in Madurai. A chairman and executive director have been appointed for the hospital, and some committees have been set up.
Work on the hospital and college campus has not yet begun, as the land has been handed over to the United States government. In a letter to Prime Minister Modi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that the AIIMS hospital should be started immediately. The officers appointed for this purpose should be given full powers to carry out the work.
The foundation stone for the AIIMS Hospital in Rajkot, Gujarat, was laid in 2020, and construction is underway. This is revealed under the Right to Information Act. At the same time, in 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for setting up the AIIMS Hospital in Madurai Thoppur. No work has been started so far, as some teams have been set up for this. The foundation is still in place.
During the recent assembly elections, Udayanithi Stalin carried a brick and campaigned that this was the AIIMS hospital built in Madurai. This incident was going on-trend during the campaign and even after the victory of DMK Part in Tamil Nadu Election 2021.
The demand for speedy operation of the Madurai AIIMS Hospital has intensified. In this context, Chief Minister MK Stalin has written a letter to Prime Minister Modi urging him to start work on the AIIMS hospital.
