Shirur Landslide: Kerala Arjun Truck Found In Gangavali River

Arjun, a Kerala driver truck, has been found in the Gangavali river using the Iboard drone, Uttar Kannada. The government is taking necessary actions to rescue the truck.

Shirur Landslide:

The landslide occurred in an area flanked by mountains on one side and a river on the other. The force of the landslide made the river enter the village which was located on the other side of the Gangavali river. The water enter the village causing damage to several houses and injuring some people. It is reported that at least 11 were killed in the landslide.

Three Tamil Nadu Drivers Died:

Three lorry drivers from Tamil Nadu Saravanan, Chinnannan, and Murugan tragically lost their lives in the recent landslide in Shirur. Saravanan's remains were identified through DNA confirmation with his mother, and efforts are underway to return his body parts to his family. The Karnataka government has announced a compensation of 5 lakhs each for the families of the three deceased drivers.

Who Is Arjun?

Arjun a lorry driver from Kerala who was tasked with transporting timber from Karnataka back to his home state. On his journey, he was last reported to be staying near a tea shop in Shirur. Tragically, on July 16, a massive landslide struck the area, causing widespread devastation.

Arjun's Disappearance:

Arjun was initially reported missing after the landslide. It is said that his phone was active until July 19, and it was later discovered that his lorry’s location was detected two days after he went missing. 

Search operations were launched to locate those affected by the landslide. Arjun’s family in Kerala expressed frustration, accusing the Karnataka government of insufficient response and lack of seriousness. They sought legal intervention, leading the court to involve the Army in the search efforts.

Online Controversy:

The search for Arjun continued despite challenging weather conditions, with the Army and Karnataka government intensifying their efforts. Meanwhile, Arjun’s mother, deeply distressed and desperate for her son’s safe return, publicly criticized the government’s response. 

This led to a surge of online controversy and cyberbullying directed at Arjun’s family. In response, the family filed a complaint against the online bullies.

Discovery of Arjun’s Lorry:

After a lot of effort in the past 10 days, a truck was finally found using an Iboard drone. The truck is believed to be Arjun's truck and it is buried under layers of mud in the Gangavali River. The authorities are now working to recover the truck and determine to know what happened to Arjun. 

The search and recovery efforts continue as the family and the community await further updates.
