Recently before his passing, Tata had dismissed concerns about his health in a social media post, assuring the public that he was undergoing routine medical check-ups due to his age. His death, though expected due to his advanced age, still came as a shock, leaving citizens to mourn for the loss across the nation. Though he died, his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

N. Chandrasekaran, the current chairman of Tata Sons, expressed his sorrow in a statement released on October 9, Mr. Tata was a mentor, guide, and friend whose leadership extended far beyond business, shaping both the Tata Group and India as a whole.
"For the Tata Group, Mr. Tata was more than a chairperson," said Chandrasekaran. "He was inspired by example. His unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation guided the Tata Group’s expansion across the globe while always remaining true to its moral compass."
Chandrasekaran also paid tribute to Tata’s remarkable contributions to charity. "From education to healthcare, his initiatives have left an enduring legacy that will benefit generations to come."

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, saying, "Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul and an extraordinary human being.
He provided stable leadership to one of India’s oldest and most prestigious business houses. At the same time, his contribution went far beyond the boardroom.
He endeared himself to several people thanks to his humility, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to making our society better."
Ratan Tata Personal Life:
Ratan Tata was born in Mumbai in 1937, and he was raised by his grandmother, Navajbai Tata after his parents separated in 1948. He pursued architecture at Cornell University, followed by management studies at Harvard Business School. Despite his highly public career, Tata remained a private individual, never seeking the limelight.
While studying in Los Angeles, Ratan Tata fell in love with a girl and promised to marry her. However, he had to return to India when his grandmother fell sick and asked the girl to join him. Due to the Indo-China war, the girl's parents did not allow her to join him, which ended their romance. Ratan Tata, in order to keep his promise to her, he never married anyone in his life.
